The Examinacion of Walter Cusacke of Rathregan in the County of Meath gent taken at Dublin the second day of Nouember 1653, whoe beinge Duely Sworne saieth
That aboue Eleauen or twelue a clocke at night after the xvij h of March in the yeare 1645 to this this Examinats now best Remimberance being in the tyme of Cessation of Armes, hee this Examinant together with Garrett Wesly of Dengan in the said County gent (since Deceased) Roger Ma cNemarra now of Rathregan in the same County yeoman Robert Cusacke now of Dengan aforesaid gent & Diuers others whoe are since Dead, were at one Richard Cowneys howse an Inkeeper there, & then came vnto them one Edward Weisly now of Dengan aforesaid gent & Teige fflanagan then of Dengan aforesaid yeoman (whoe were both of them then Servants to the said Garrett Weisley) Att whose cominge in theire Maister asked them where they had beene soe Late in the night they the said Edward Weisley & Teige fflanagan in this Examinants hearinge & presence then answeared wee haue beene seekinge for the price of a Skeane or a [ ] sonagh called in English a Mantle, & then they shewinge a Coate which they had, they further said & affirmed that they had Lately mett with an English Souldier hard by Longwood & had killed him, & then alsoe they boisted of that Action & how they had brought that Coate as a Signe or token thereof: And then alsoe in this Examinants presence the said Edward Weisley sold his parte in the said Coate to his fellowe Teige fflanagan, for three shillings six pence, And the said Garrett Weisley said they were Roagues & Deserued hanginge for the fact because it was Done in the tyme of Cessation but were the said Teige fflanagan now Dwelleth this Examinant Cannot tell
