The Examynacion of Arte Kauanagh of ClowneMullin in the Com of Catherlagh gent: taken before vs the first day of Nouember 1641
<E> Whoe saith, That he Came to Dublin the 22th day of 8ber Last beinge friday in the Company of Daniell mcMorgan Kauanagh, and that his buissines was to seeke for a Master, And if he coulde gett noe Master, to enter him selfe into some Company to goe beyound seas, And further saith, that hearetofore he liued at he was borne at duffery <F> in the Com aforesaid and that he went in to Munster when he was a Childe and was, intertayned by one John Burgett Esquire of the Com of Limbricke, wher he Liued euer since, vntill aboute 4 yeares Last past, he returned into his owne Countrie and Liued with an Aunte, of his called Ismall Kauanagh of <G> Kilbranagh, in the said Com of Catherlagh And beinge demaunded why he Came noe sooner vntill all the Companies were Levied and full, he saith that he Coulde vse noe meanes for his preferment but only by the said Daniell mc Morgan Kauanagh, whoe had noe occation to come towne till that friday

<H> And his, the said Daniell mc Morgans Kauanagh, occation of Cominge then to towne was either to buy him Clothes or to pay for Clothes which he had formerlie bought as the Examinant was informed by the Lady Kauanagh, but whether of both he knoweth not, And further saith that there came in his Companie, besides the said Daniell; one footeman and a servinge man on horsebacke that wayted on the said Daniell And saith that he Knoweth not of any aquaintance that the said Daniell had with any of <J> the Captains wherby he might prefer him, but only that he thought the said Daniell, beinge a gent of good fashion Could doe more for him then he Could doe for him selfe And beinge demaunded whether he knew, Daniell mc Gwyre saith that he knoweth him not nor any other in Dublin but only the Company that Came with him, And further saith not,
