Martine Brangan Late of killcock, yeoman being examined before mee william Hilton one of the Barrons of the exchequer saith
<g:> saith that mr James white of Picherstowne esquire as he remembreth abowt a month since obtayned a pass for the examinat from the Earle of ormond to bring som corne from Picherstowne to dublin to the sayd mr white t And that the examinat going along from with the sayd pass was taken prisoner was by Nicholas walsh [ ] whoe threatned to hang him, and sent him to Rathcoffy where he remayned prisoner vntill the Castle was taken and during his being there saw Mr Nicholas owgan releeve Captayne Gilbert Tallbott Thomas dongan and five brothers <h:> of the walshes with meat and drink and that he hard mr owgan say that there was threeskore pounds of powder in the howse: and that John owgan brought from killkenny eight pounds powder which cost twenty shillings the pound butt from whence the rest of the powder was brought he knoweth not, but butt that oliuer walsh the ffryar brought after the burning of Mynoth a great bag of Powder and a good quantity of mach vnto the Castle of Rathcoffy
