At his Howse at Ballicuam in the Kings Countie

The Examinat further sayth That vppon notice geven vnto his ffather of the Kinges forces goeinge vnto Athlone he the examinat was commanded by his ffather to follow them in ther Reare but not being able to gather his men together sufficiently furnished [ ] soe suddenlie he the examinat himselfe went unto as a private person vnto Rath Connell where he well knew his brother who e is seri ant maior vnder his ffather would meet him & the examinat cumminge vnto the sayd place the morneinge before the fighte he accidentlie there mett his brother with aboute 700 men & 300 more vnder Roger moore Commanded and Colonell Pa t trick plunkett with aboute 300 more and certayne of Sir James Dillons men & where the examinent alsoe mett with Sir Luke ffitzgerrard with about 20 horse & Sir Thomas Nugent who had certayne forces vnder the command of a captayne of his one name
