The examinacion of Margrett Speare wife vnto Allexander Hay taken before me the 17o Janvary 1641
<L> Whoe deposeth & saieth that she & her husband being in feare of Robbinge att the tyme they were Livinge vnder Sir John Bourke & Sir John hearing of theire feare both himselfe & his Lady did warrant them they should not be Robbed as Longe as they were vppon his Land & Sir John soone after beinge drinkinge with the Rebells vppon a Saturday the next morninge being Sunday this examinatt & her husband were both were Robbed by the same Company that were with Sir John & were stript & Left starke naked & this examinatt vppon theire comminge away Sir John & my Lady sent two of their men with them to killcocke for feare they should be robbed of 59 s. they had Left & they the saide men tooke the saide mony from them & ffurther saith not & c.
