<p> Cornelius Moran of Dowth in the County of Meath aged 25 yeares or therabouts servant to Sir John Netervil Knight beeing duly sworne and examjned saith that the certaine time hee remembreth not, (but saith

<q> saith it was after the raising of the seege of Drogheda) Sir John Netervil hearing that the Earle of Ormond with his majesties Army was at Garristowne, the said Sir John attended by this examinant and only went from Dowth, and having swome their horses over <r> the river they went to themselves in a currogh and soe having gotten over the river the said Sir John (the examinant attending him) repaired to the Earle of Ormond at and Garristowne mett his lordship in the way within a mile or two of Garristowne, And hee <s> saith the said Sir John did choose to goe that way rather then by the way of Drogheda because it was the neerer way, Hee further saith that after the comittall of Sir John Netervil to the Castle of Dublin <t> the examinant was examined before Sir Robert Meredith, and having vppon his examjnacion confessed, asmuch as he knewe, hee was

was threatened by Sir Robert Meredith to bee rackt if hee did not confesse, and the said Sir Robert then tould him hee would make him a fist h longer then hee was if <v> hee did not confesse, Hee saith that hee now remembreth not what hee confessed vppon his examjnacion, but saith that what hee confessed, hee thincks was then written downe, and hee remembreth not whether or noe hee this examinant putt <w> his hand thervnto, Hee saith hee doth not remember whether it was the said Sir Robert or his servant that did write the examjnacion but hee sawe the said Sir Roberts servant then there either as the examinant was going in <x> or at his coming out, Hee saith also that hee doth not remember whether or noe his said examjnation was at that time read to him
