<Exr 113> Alice Cowper wife to Henry Cowper (gone long since to Cownagh) of Ballintobber on the Queenes Countie being duly sworne deposeth & saith that about some 3 weekes before Christmas last they shee lost in goods and in her garden to the value of xvj li. by George Sheppard of Ballyadams smith in the said Countie who said he had Sir John Bowens of Bally Adams warrant for it And this deponent sawe part of her goods in Sir John Bowens howse: The which she demanded and Sir John Answered that he had taken them least the Irish should take them And further saith that

what little this deponent had bringinge to Athy with it in a truncke Sir John Bowens Cooke and his servant Dermott McAboy robbed her of And this deponents cloathes and some other thinges left l e a ft her were taken from her by William Cosby neere Stradbally And last of all she was stripte starke naked by a multitude of Rebells
