<A> The examinacion of Brian ô Haggan of Killoquin in the Parish of Magheresharkin in the County of Antrim Gent taken before vs at Colerane the 12: day of March 1652
Who being duely examined saith That his brother Henry O Haggan & all the rest of the Haggans that dwelt at Killoquin aforesaid (except this Examinante who lay very sicke) went over the Bann into the County of Londonderry about a fortnight before the Murder of Portnaw to his best remembrance, And being demaunded wherefore his brother & the rest of the Haggans his Cossens went over the Bann the Enemy then possessing that side the river, he saith he beleives they went over because most of the ô Haggans their Cossens were on that side and because they were affraid of the Scotts & that he heard his brother Henry say he was weary of his life with provideing fire Wood for the Scotch Regiment lying at Portnaw And further he this Examinante saith That he continued sick for a quarter of a yeare & was not sensible of what was done by the Irish but can remember that he heard maney of the Brittish were killd at Portnaw & in the Layney, & that he was carryed over the Bann by two men when all the rest of the Irish went over in or about Aprill 1642 And further he saith not
