The further examination of Edmond Birne of Corrunlosky taken october 14 1652
This Examinant sworne as formerly saith & being asked what he knoweth to be the reason of Isaac Wollys leaveing his dwelling <A> at Oldtowne in the Co: of Carloe; he saith, that it was because the Irish had taken away his cattell, & that there was a suite betweene Walter Bagnall of Dunleckny in the County of Carloe & the said Wolley about the said land of Oldtowne: & that the said Wollys wife did sue the said Bagnall at Dublin: & that two nights after the said Wollys wife returned from Dublin the Cattell of the said Wolley were taken away as aforesaid, which was about the later end of Michaelmas terme 1641. This Examinants cause of knowledge is, that he was in dublin with the said Wolleys wife when she so sued the said Bagnall, & returned from dublin with her to the Co: of Carloe. He farther saith that soone after the takeing of away of the said Wolleys cattell as aforesaid he the said Wolley went feareing farther danger at Oldtowne betooke himselfe with his wife & family to Loughlyn {bridge} in the said County. Being demanded what meanes he the examinant used for the re with the said Bagnall for the release of Nicholas Pue servant to the said Wolley, as in this examinants former examination, & where the said Bagnall was at the time. He saith that he doth not now remember whether the said Bagnall was then at Laughlyn or at his <B> house at Dunleckny: & But that he this examinant did speake to H{ } Fagan who dwelt at Kilcarrig neere dunleckny who w{ } intimate with the said Bagnall for saveing the said Pue; he did also move it to B{ } Birne of Oldtowne, but he durst not appeare in it { } of a difference between the said Bagnall & { } the said Fagan the next day told him this Examinant t{ } not prevaile. Being asked his cause of knowled{ge} { } the said Nicholas Pue as in this Examinants { } saith that he did se the said Pue { } goeing to his execution, that { } [ ] accordingl{y} { }
