The Examinacion of Elianor Warren wife of Philip Warren of Colliers Towne in the County of Meath taken at Dublin the 12th of ffebr 1652
The said Elianor Warren aged foure & twenty yeeres or thereabouts being duely sworne & examined saith That she is the daughte{r} of Richard Geyner late of Castle Moylagh aforesaid deceased, That about fiue yeeres since her said father & her mother Rose, Edmund Tute and Anne his wife the deponents sister, Cornelius and Richard Geyner her brothers and this deponent, lived together, having servants and a stock, in the said Castle, being protected by the Parliaments forces of the Garrison of Trym, That vpon the second of february fiue yeeres past a party of foote about fourteen in number came about 12 a clock at night armed to Castle Moylagh and Entred, the Bawne and thence tooke away about foure & twenty Cowes and being gone with the Cowes about the distance of an Acre from the Castle, some of the party came back by whom the deponents father Richard Geyner was killed neere the Castle doore none of his family being by but the deponents mother, That the deponent with her sister & others of the family were on the top of the Castle, throwing stones on the party that were in the Bawne, That the deponents mother cryed to her

to her and her sister & the rest to forbeare throwing stones els shee and should be killed as her husband was even then killed wherevpon they forbare throwing stones The deponent further saith That her mother told her soone after, that to her <B> knowledge Luke Leynham was the man that tooke her by the throate, and did threaten her with death as her husband had suffered, in case those on the top of the Castle forbare not throwing stones The deponent further saith That one Bryan Martin of Tecroghan being at the time of the said murder taken by Edmund Tute and Cornelius Geyner, and after brought to Trym, did a litle before his death in the hearing of this deponent & diuers others at Trym Confesse That there were fourteen of the party that killed the said Richard Geyner & preyed his Cattell. That Luke Leynham Hugh Cormock Oliver Ledwich, Andrew Linch, Bryan Clawan Redmund Birmingham, Owen Boy ô Gilshenan & Edmund Duffe ô Gelshenan & two others that run away from the Garison of Castle=Richart, were of that Company, And further shee saith not.
