The further examinacion of James Dalton of Mooreton in the County of Westmeath gent taken the xiijth day of August 1653 before Sir Robert Meredith Knight and Colonell Thomas Herbert two of the Comittee appoynted by the High Court of Justice sitting at Dublin for taking examinacions of Massacres and Murthers
Whoe being duely sworne and examined deposeth and sayth that on wednesday last he mett with one Diermott mc Keigan of Lukan yeoman at the ffayer of Palmerstowne and having some speech with him concerning the Murther of Mr Eddmund Dalton, the sayd Diermott told this examinant that one John Magawly of Balliloghloe in the County of Westmeath sheapheard vnto Henry Magawly of the same gent, was the man that hanged the put the rope about the neck of the sayd Edmund Dalton and hange{d} him vntill he was deade And this examinant demaunded of the sayd Diermott what other company he had to help him to Comitt the sayd Murther, vnt{o} whom he answered, that there were two more then in his company, but sayd that h{e} could not asyet [ ] Learne out their their names And this examinant further sayth not
