Jean ffrisell alias Tomson of Copper Ally dublin, the wife of walter Tompson Soldier being duely sworne and Examined sayth that shee was present vppon the greene neere the Castle of longford the same day that

that the English came out of the Castle vppon Articles and were murthered there by the Irish, the occasion of her comming thither was to speake with mr Thomas Allen who was endebted to her some moneys, to see if shee cold gett payment, And further sayth that being vppon the said greene shee saw mr Thomas Trafford, mr ffrancis Martin, & mr Baker of longford, John Evans Butcher, & mr John Smith all murthered by the bloody Irish Rebels there, and saw mr Thomas Allen forced into the River, by an Irish man with a halberd in his hand, but his name shee knoweth not, And further sayth that all the said murthered persons were (except mr Trafford) were first stripped starke naked by the said Rebels, before they were murthered, onely the said mr Trafford shee saw killed in his cloathes, and alsoe sawe many woemen stripped there, And being demaunded the names of as many of the Actors of that horrid murther and stripping as shee knowes or can remember, shee sayth that shee knew none of the murtherers themselues but shee sawe one Maw mc Shane fferrall, and Shane fferrall his sonne living neere longford, <B> Richard mc Connell fferrall, and lisagh mc Connell ferrall, Rory mc Gerald fferrall, James mc Shane fferrall, Hugh mc Richard mc C onnell fferrall, and lisagh mcConnell ffe rrall And also sawe one Hugh mc Murrogh fferrall of Kilmore there, saving a woman from being stripped, and also saving in his Armes a child of mr Martins whom the Soldiers were very violent to kill, And sayth that shee saw Thomas Allen at his comming out of the Castle gate deliver a sword to one whose name she knowes not, and afterwards saw the said Allin pursued

by a Soldier with a halberd in his hands and forced into the River, and standing vppon a Rocke in the River neere <C> the Bridge, and heard him call to th one Rowry mc Gerald fferrall to giue him but the worst of his three swords that hee might fight for his life and dye like a man but the said Rory mc Gerald did not giue him any sword nor offer him any assistance, And further sayth that shee heard and sawe Bartholomew Nangle calling the said mr Allen to come to him from the said Rocke and promise the said Allen to secure his life, and that or hee wold loose his owne, or words to that effect, And sayth that shee sawe the said mr Allen goe out of the River to the said Mr Nangle who convayed him into his house, and shortly after shee saw the whole rabble of the Irish that had bin murthering vppon the greene, run over to the said Mr Nangles house, and compasse the house, wh but longer shee stayed not but went home to her owne house then at Clogill on Sir John Seatons land within a mile of longford And further sayth not
