The Examinacion of Nickolas Codd husbandman taken on behalfe of the Comonwealth concerninge Wil the aforesaid William Esmond
this deponent sath that the said William Esmond in the first yeare of the warr Came to Castletown aforesaid and forced his possession into the said howse pretendinge that he had an order from the then Commissioners of the Countye for what hee did and that in Company with the said William was mr Richard Waddinge of Ballecouglye and Johne Esmond Roberte Esmond the sonne of the aforesaid William, with many others <y> armed with musquites and othere instrements of Warr, and haueing forced then possession as aforesaid th he the said William disposessed the then possessers of the said howse, and left a partye of his owne men to kepe the said howse which whoe wasted much of the said goods
