The Examinacion of William Stafford Gent taken on behalfe of the Comonwealth concerninge Richard Waddinge of Ballecouglye in the Countye of Wexford Esquire and John Waddinge sonne and heire to the said Richard
<to the 1st interro> this deponent sath that the said Richard and John liued in the first yeare of the warr and euer since to this day at ballecouglye in the Countye aforesaid it beinge in the Irish quarters and that the said Richard and John might <o> haue remoued themselues into the English quarters as some English did in the first of the warr but not without hazard of losse of his estate
<to the 2o interr> he Can not depose
<to the 3d interro> this deponent saith that the said Richard did actually Contrebute in the publicke leuies of the Countrey in the first yeare of the warr and subscribe to the warrant as one of the Countye Councell for raising <p> of men armes mony and other prouissions of warr for the Iris defence of the Irish in the said first yeare and sath that John Waddinge was of the Countye meletiae and forces raised in the County aforesaid about the yeare 1646
<to the 4th interro> this deponent sath that the said Richard did in the first yeare of the warr acted as a <q> County Counceller and a contrebuter in abettinge and promotinge the warr
<to the 5th interro> This deponent sath that the said Richard was C onsta frequ <r> Constantly e at all publicke meetings frequently in the Countye aforesaid for Chusing asemble men and in order to promote the Irish Cause

<to the 6th interro> this deponent sath that the said Richard was of the County Councell for the County of W a xford in the first yeare of the warr and <s> that the said Richard af [ ] was in or about the yeare 1642 or 43 or both a member of the prouinciall Councell and Joyned in the electinge of others
<to the 6th interro> this deponent sath that the said Richard did with others did Joyne in the first yeare of the warr in the Electinge of the Countye Councell and by warrant did asemble the Countye require a publicke mettinge of the Gentrye and others <s> of the said Countye about September 1642 to Chuse prouinciall Councellers and the generall asemble members of the asemble for the aforesaid Countye
<to the 7th interro> this deponent sath that the said Richard did take the oath of associacion

<to the 9th interro> this deponent sath that the said Richard was of the Countye Councell in the first yeare of the warr 1641 and 42 and was by the said <t> Councell in the said first yeare intrusted to Colect the tyeths and other profetts belonging to protestants then fled and absent which was vndesposed by the said protestants at that tyme for the vse of the the re Irish that the said Rich Waddinge was of the prouinciall Councell in th or about the yeare 1643 and a member of seauerall generall asembles and tresurer of the County of Waxford in the yeares 1644 and 45 and sath that the said John Waddinge was in Contention with Jeames Codd for the Command of the foote company of forte in the yeare 1646 or 47
