The examinacion of William Stafford Gent taken on behalfe of the Comonwealth concerninge Richard Whittye of Balletege gent
<to the 1st interro> this deponent sath that the Richard liued at his howse aforesaid in the first yeare of the warr and euer since to this day beinge in the Irish Quarters and sath that the said Richard might haue remoued himeselfe into the English quarters as some English <y> did but not without hazard of his Estate as this deponent Conceaueth
<to the 2 interro> he Can not depose
<to the 3 interro> this deponent sath that the said Richard did actually Contrebute and subscribe to warran ts warrants for the raisinge of mony and prouisions of warr for the Irish forces in <z> the first yeare of the warr and beleiueth Confidentelye that he did actually Contrebute his proporcion

<to all the rest of the interrogatoryes> this deponent Can not further say that then that the said Richard did in the first yeare of the warr take the oath of associacion and in the said yeare did acte as a Countye Counceller in the <a> County of Waxford his cause of knowledge is in that this deponent was Clarke to the said Councell and knoweth that none Could be admited into the said Councell except he did take the said oath
