The examinacion of Tirlagh Murphy of Clansarragh yeoman aged thirty fiue yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning James Sutton of ffetherd in the barrony of shelbyrne & County of wexford gent vpon the Interrogatoryes annexed to the Comission of enquiry
<To the 1st Inter> The examinant saith That the said James dwelt at ffetherd aforesaid the first yeare & the Residue of the Rebellyon from whence he remooued not himselfe into the english quarters as Mr Myers, the Lady Colclough & other <k> protestants in that barrony did: The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent dwelt within a quarter of a mile to the deponents said James his habitacion before & sometime since the rebellyon
<To the 2d Inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th Inter> The Deponent saith That the said James did contribute his person in Armes for the Irish against the english & this deponent did see him weare a sword & a musquet in the towne of ffetherd in the first beginning of the said Rebellyon and afterwardes the said James was a pyrate at sea <l> sometimes in the friggot of Captain Dorane & in other friggots that kept in wexford & went to sea to Robb and spoyle the english at sea: The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent being sometimes in the Company of the said James, he the said James told & informed the deponent that he did serue in the said Captain Deorans & other friggotts that went to sea & [ ] plundered the english and protestants of their goods & brought the english & their vessells into wexford, waterford & Passadge as Lawfull prizes in which action the said James Continued till Wexford was Reduced by the english Armie & further saith not &c
