The Examinacion of James Jordane of Eniscorthy gent aged thirty foure yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oat{h} on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Edward Masterson of Burres in the barrony of Scarewailsh & County of wexford gent vpon the Interr: &c
<To the 1st Interr> The Examinant Deposeth and saith that he well knew the said Edwar{d} for that the hee dwelt in the said barrony of Scarewailsh (where the deponents habitacion was) at his the said Edwardes Residence at Burrowes aforesaid where he dwelt the <c> first yeare and the residue of the rebellyon, and from thence he did not remooue into the english quarters as one Mr Stannop a protestant that dwelt in that barrony did: The deponents cause of knowledge appeares.
<To the 2d inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th Inter> The Deponent saith that the said Edward did contribute his person in Armes the first yeare of the rebellyon for the Irish against the english and did act and abet the said Rebellyon by Joyning with the Irish forces and goeing with them in the Capacity of a souldyer: The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see him the said Edward marching with the sa Sir Morgan Cavanagh knight & his Regiment at their Marching vpon seruic{e} <d> through the Countrey And the deponent further saith that after the said Sir Morgans decease the deponent did see the said Edward March in the front of a foote Companie whereof he he had the title and Comand of Captaine & that some of his the said Edwardes souldyers quartered at this deponent{s} howse and receiued Contribucion from the deponent for the vse of the said Edwardes Company & others that were Regimented vnder Collonell Danyell Cavanagh the said Sir Morgans sonne: In which Capacity the said Edward Continued till the said Collonell Cavanagh submitted & laied downe Armes In [ ] vpon which submission the deponent did see the said Edward & his Companie Come in togeather with the Rest of the said Collonell Cavanaghs souldyers
