Nicholas Connor of Ballinvellegh gent aged sixty years or thereabouts taken being sworne & examined Concerning the foresaid Robert Masterson of Court gent saith and deposeth as followeth vizt
That the said Robert dwelt at Court distant about a mile from the Deponents habitacion all the time of the rebellion and thence did not remooue into the english quarters And further saith that the deponent did see the said Robert Masterson at the publicque meetings of the Irish assembled in the said Barrony of Ballaghkeen in <z> the first yeare or since and further saith that after the Lord generall Cromwells accesse to theese partes the said Robert hauing submitted to, and liued some time vnder the protection of the english gouernment at his howse of Court aforesaid & paid contribucion to the english as this deponent & his neighbours did, neuertheles fo tooke vp Armes with the Irish against the english & soe Continued till the Irish submitted vpon Articles & afterwardes the said Robert departed hence for Spayne with the Irish that were bound thither This deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said Robert in Armes Riding with the troope of horse Comanded by Captain Art Cavanagh [ ] and that the said R deponent did see him the said Robert after his Coming in vpon Articles among the Irish that submitted And further saith that Rowland Masterson brother to the said Robert was an officer for & in Armes for the Irish against the english: His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said Rowland to march in the front & Comand a Company of foote of the Irish against the english since the english coming to the gouernment of the said County & afterwardes the said Rowland with his Company went to Spayne with Collonell Daniell Cauanagh and further saith not &c
