The examinacion of Shane oge Murcho of ffernes gent aged sixty three yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Phillip Hill of Glascarrigg in the barrony of Ballaghkeen & County of wexford gent deceased vpon the Interrogatoryes annexed to the Comission of the enquiry
<To the 1st Interr> The Deponent saith that that he well knew the said Phillip & that the said Phillip dwelt at Glascarrigg in the barrony & County aforesaid the first yeare & the whole time of the rebellyon and from thence <n> did not remooue into the english quarters as Sir Walsingham Cooke knight & other english in them partes did: His the deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent was well acquainted with the said Phillip and dwelt about fiue miles distant from his habitacion.
<To the 2d inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th inter> The deponent saith that he is Confident that the said Phillip did actually Contribute to the Raysing of men & monyes for their maintenance for the Irish against the english all the time of the rebellyon and soe Continued after the Lord generall Cromwells <o> accesse to & settling of his Armie in theese partes which said Phillip was taken by Collonell Cookes Company party that were Reducing Carnow and by them hanged but whether it was for that he the said Phillip was taken as a spie or for what other offence he was executed, this deponent knoweth not
<To the 5th inter> The deponent saith that he did see him the said Phillip at seauerall publicque meetings of the Irish held at <p> Ballaghkeen and other places in the barrony of Ballaghkeen as well the first yeare as since in order to forward & promote the said rebellyon against the english: His Cause of knowledge appeares
