The Examinacion of Dorothy Billings of wexford wife to Thomas Billings souldyer aged fiftie yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Nicholas Hire gent claim of Eniscorthy gent that claimes the landes of Ballinekally in the barrony of Scarewailsh & County of wexford &c
The Examinant saith That one Danyell fferrall of Eniscorthy hauing a forthnight before Christmas (1649: betrayed the castle of Eniscorthy and Murthered Captain Todd the then gouernor thereof this deponent did see the said Nicholas Hire come to the said castle of Eniscorthy the next daie after the said Captain Todd was murthered when & where the said Nicholas did in the deponents presence and audience salute the said Danyell fferrall by the <s> Name of Captaine fferrall seeming to be joyous rejoyce that the said fferrall had got the said Castle And the deponent further saith that a brother of the said Nicholas Hires was with the said Jesper Danyell ferrall at that instant time when the said Captain Todd was murthered in manner aforesaid, and further saith not &c
