The examinacion of Marcus Murchoe of Ballinoulort gentleman aged fortie yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Charles Redmond of Ballinhorney in the barrony of Ballaghkeen & County of wexf{ord} gent vpon the Interrogatoryes &c
<To the 1st Interr> The examinant saith that the said Charles Redmond dwel{t} in the barrony of Ballaghkeen & elsewhere in the County of wexford in the Irish quarters the first yeare & the residue of the rebellyon without remooving <d> himselfe into the english quarters, As Sir walsingh{am} Cooke knight Edward Chichester esquire & John ffountaine The Deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent dwelt within foure or fiue miles to the said Charl{es} his habitacion for seauerall yeares of the rebellyon
<To the rest> of the Interrogatoryes he Cannot depose touching the said Charles his actions before 1649: But beinge demanded of his carriadge & actings since the <e> Reducing of wexford by the Lord generall Cromwe{ll} & his Armie saith and deposeth That Imediatly after the said County had submitted to the gouerment & protecion of his excellency the Lord Cromwell the said Charles did take vp Armes & became a Leiutenant of foote in the Regiment of Sir Thomas Esmond who were then in actuall Armes against the english The Deponents cause of knowledge is for that the said Charles did vsually come into them partes where the deponents dwelling was with his souldyers & quartered, with this Deponent & his neighbours & the said Charles Continued in Armes in that Capacitie till the Irish submitted vpon Articles and afterwardes the said Charles went to Spaine among the Irish partie and further saith not
