<2> The examinacion of william Stafford of Temon gentleman aged thirty nine yeeres or thereabout being duelye sworne and examined by vertue of his oath vpon the seuerall interrogatoryes in the Comission of enquirye on behalfe of the ComonWealth Concerning Thomas Rosceter of Rothmacknee esquire
<To the first interro> Sayth that he knoweth Thomas Rosceter of Rothmacknee and that he did liue in the peere of Rothmacknee in the barrony of forte in the County of wexford in the first yeere of the warr and euersince till <x> the yeere 1649 that the lord Cromwell came into the Countye of wexford and then left his habitation and went into the more remote quarters of the Irish And doth beleiue that the said Rosceter Continued in the Irish quarters till the time that Sir walter Dungon laid downe Armes & submitted And the deponent beleiueth that the said Rosceter might haue remoued himselfe to the English quarters if he had thought fitt but not without danger as this deponent Conceaueth and sayth that mr Nicholas Codd and Mr Nicholas Roe and seuerall others did then remoue some for England & some Dublin and some for Duncanon And to this intero: he Cannot further depose

<To the 3d interro> Saith that he is confident that the said Rosceter did Actuallye Contribute in the first yeere of the warr and before the 10th of Nouember 1642 And that he was of the Countye millitrye and Comanded a foote companye before Duncanon <y> and else where [ ] And that the deponent confidentlye beleiueth that he did subscribe as A County Counceller to Contribute & to raise men and prouissions of warr for his Company and others

<To the 4th interro> Hee onelye saith that the said Rosceter haueing A foote Company at Duncanon the deponent doth <z> verely beleiue he did advise and consent to the Sumoning of Duncanon in the first yeare of the warr
<To the 5th interro> Hee saith that the said Rosceter was in the yeere 1643 at watterford in a generall assemblye of <a> selected persons throughout this whole nation in order to Carry on the worke then in hand
<To the 6th interro> Saith that the said Thomas Rosceter as a member of the generall assemblye gaue his voyce in the election of the Supreame and provinciall councels <b> in the yeere 1643 And that the said Rosceter was himselfe a county counceller in the County of wexford in the yeare 1641 and 42
<To the 7th interro> Saith that he is confident that he the said Rosceter did take and enter into the oath of association to <c> be true to the King and the Roman Catholick religion and defend the countrye against all opposers,
<To the 8th interro> Saith that he beleiueth that the said Rosceter was of the Nunctioes faxtion which was agent from the <d> pope and that he was not excomunicated as others of the County were
<To the 9th interro> Saith that the said Thomas Rosceter was in the first yeere of the warr A captain of a ffoote Companye And a county counceller And in the yeere 1643 & 44 was a Comissinor of the Army And then high Sherrife and tresurer of the County of wexford for seuerall yeeres after,

<To the 10th interro> Saith that the said Thomas Rosceter had a Brothere by name Phillip Rosceter that was a leftennant <f> in the first yeere of the warr And that he had corrispondancie with and had releife from the said Thomas Rosceter as a Brothere

<To the 12th interro> Saith that about the yeare 1644 the said Thomas Rosceter tooke a lease of the estate of Nicholas Codd protestant for a valuable rent from the Commissinors appointed by the Supreame councell <g> for the setting English and protestants estates in this County of wexford whose names were Peirse Butler of the Clough deseased Richard Wadding of Balliconglye Phillip Dernell and others which the deponent doth not now Remember.
