<symbol> I doe hereby Certefie whome it may Concerne, that vpon shrouetuesda{y} <A> 1641 in the begininge of this Rebellyon, Captain Edmund ffennell with a ronte of Rogues came vnto Ballyanker in the County of Waterford, where I was with my husband Edward Croker then liuing{e} and stormed the house wherein we weare, which was Justifed by my husband and 4 other English men for aboute halfe an houre whoe had Condicons of quarter granted vnto them for liues and wearinge apparell, and to be Conveyed vnto Lismore but Contrary vnto their said quarter as soone as my husband deliuered vp his armes and gaue them posession of the house, they Conveyed both my husband and those foure men with him into a feild neere the house and there hanged the foure men and shott my husband to death, and stripped me and my three of my childre{n} of our clothes and kept them and me prisoners vntill they heard of Sir Charles Vanissers Regiment landinge in youghall which made them runn away and leaue me and my children behinde them And further doe Certefiet that I was told by Captain James Bryn and seuerall others of that party, that all the officers were willinge to performe the quarter granted, except the aboue named Edmund ffennell, whoe pretended that he had one of his men hanged by Captain Hugh Croker the then Gouernor of Capoquin, and that (in reuenge of that) he would haue my husbands life whoe was a kinsman vnto the said Captain Croker All which I am redy to depose, and would haue gone to Corke to that purpose but that I haue a greife in one of my thighes, and am not able to ride as wittnesse my hand thus: 27: Nouember 1652
