The Examinacion of Teige ôg o Crowly aged 6 about 75 yeares 10o of September teaken vpon oath!
Sayth that he was at Timoleague when Kibritten Castle was taken by the English and McCarty Reagh Came so farre at Mellag=hilleevaricg, a hill neere timoleague, And this Examinant was vpon the same hill, and this Examinant saith that at the same time, it was generally <A> reported among them, that Mc Ne Crimin, came there to McCarthy, and asked him what he should doe with John Burrowghs &c, to which McCarthy replied, that goe yow unto him in the devills name, doe what yow will with him ha n And this Examinant saith! An that McCarty Reagh appeared then very much troubled for the losse of Kilbritten Castle, And this Examinant saith that he Credibly heard that Burrowghs was hangd that day or the next, & with him, his wife & son! And this Examinantt saith that this was done about whitson-tide, in the first yeere of the warre!#
And this Examinant saith that in the said first yeare of the warre himselfe & his brother; & John ôg Crowley & other of his ffrenids were in proteccion with the Lord of Kinalmeakey, and also Sir Roger O Sha=hane &c. at which time there was one <B> John Phips taken, whom the said John ô Crowley kept at his ffathers house for the space of 2 or 3 weekes, or more to dresse his meate And afterwards that the said Englishman Ino: Phips was Carried to McCarty Reaghs Campe, which as this Examinant hath very good ground to belleeue was done by the said John og ô Crowley, and this Examinant Credibly heard that the said Phips was hangd!
