<4> Nicholas Whyte of Castllyons in the County of Corke gentleman beinge duely sworne & examined deposeth and sayth that there was one Charles fflyn whoe was brought from Coole and Carryed into the Castle of Cloghleigh and from there the morneinge after within a day or twoe after was taken out and hanged vpon a tree within shott of the Castle, and that this <D> deponent did see him the sayde fflyn hanginge on the tree as aforesayde and that there was present when he was hanged Collonell John Condon Richard Condon of Ballyndergan and divers others and that Mr Richard Condon of Ballymacpatricke was within the Castle of Cloghleigh the when the sayde fflyn was soe taken out and hanged as aforesayde and the next day after this deponent speakinge to Collonell John Condon and sayd Mr Condon I vnderstand by some that those people of Coole had quarter, given them, and his answer was then he (takeing abooke out of his pockett) he voluntaryly swore <E> thereon that he promised them noe quarter onely Edmond Condon did give one david Welsh quarter wherevpon all the rest Conceuied that there was quarter promised to them all aswell as to the sayde Welsh And ffurther sayth not save onely that a day after he did see one John Barne hanged and brought out of Cloughleigh Castle and exequuted as aforesayde, which sayde John Barne belonged to the Garyson of Michelstowne, And further sayth not.
