The Examinacion of ffynyn mc Donell Crowley the 11 of September. Aged 45 yeares vpon oath!
<Saith> that he was one of Captain mc ne Crimyns soldiers in the first yeare of the Rebbellion and at such time as Kilbritton Castle was taken by the English, he this Examinant saw mc Carthy Reagh with a great Company of men vpon Koile-avarrig by Timoleague, intending to Releeue the same! but it was taken before, the which exceedingly madded & vext the said Mc Carty that day And this Examinant saith that mc ne Crimin Brought out John Burroughs & his wife & children vpon the Hill, Before mc Carty Reagh, and from thence they were Carried backe, to a wood within 2 muskett shott of the Castle or thereabouts, and the said Burrowghs & his wife & his son were there hanged the same day the executioner was one Teige Roe, that was mc ne Crimins servant, and liued with the said mc ne Crimin afterwards; and this Examinant saith that the least of Burrowghs children, which was not then hang’d, staid in mc ne Crimins house, and as this Examinant afterward Credibly heard, was starued for want of ffood:
