James Roch of kilpatricke in the Barony of Kinneley his examinacion beinge taken <symbol> before me this 6th of december 1652 he saythe that there was noe assembly att Bellgooly by the gentry of kinneley <B> vntill they were forced out by Captain Sowgan and his fforces beinge seaven or eight hundred of horse and foote, and that then as he veryly beleeueth that all the gentry of the Barony of kinneley was there att Bellgooly (except Mr Lyne) but they were all forced as aforesaid but by what authority he knoweth not that they were soe forced but that he hard that Sowgan he Came by the Lord of Muskeryes order, and that he heard that donnogh ô Caghlan, John fitz Thomas & donnogh ô Coen were those that tooke Robert Beare and his wife and Pasqun Trudgeon Pasqua Volkeare and others and that they were the men with some of Captain Sougans Company that exequuted them.
