John Dodge of the parish RingeRone of the Barrony Courcey Aged about 60 yeares beinge sworne and Examined saith That hee Liuinge att CourtMcsherry in the yeare 41 That hee knew the afforesaid Hodnett Liuinge within a Mile of Courtmcsherry in the yeare 41
<1)> That hee might haue Remoued into the English Quarter as diuers English of his Neighbours did
<2)> That hee Remoued farther into the Irish Quarters and Continued there duringe the time of Warr
<3)> That hee was in Actuall Armes with the Eneimy the same yeare
<4)> That hee tooke by uiolence the Goods of the English that was to bee sent to the Garrison of Kinsale
<10)> That hee had a Brother that Joined with him in the Rebellion and a sonne
<12)> That hee tooke into his Custody the goods of Mr John Burres & Hen: Samsons Viz 1100 sheepe aboue 20 Cowes or 5 horses besides Corne and housholdestuff
<11)> That there was Liuinge one the same Land diuers English Viz Tho: Dullines went for England and Returned not againe William Hicks Liuinge now neere the forte of Kinsale William Rashley since dead Antho: Holday Liuinge then there and is now Returned there againe

The Cause of this deponent Knowledge is that hee Liued with Mr Burres att the afforesaid place of CourtMcsherry which Burres was forced to flie for safety and Left this deponent as ouerseer of his goods and Estate att which time the afforesaid Hodnett Came downe and tooke into his possesion the house goods and Estate of the afforesaid Burres which this deponent was then Intrusted with and forced this deponent away a where hee saw the plunderinge of the Rest of the English and that hee saw him take away the Armes of his said Master and made use of them for defence of the Irish in opposition to the English and that sum of those that the said Hodned brought to keepe the house stript this deponent Naked and threatned to kill him and soe was faine to make his eskape to Kinsale for his Life to Kinsale and farther saith not
