<Mallow March 7th 1653> Depositions taken Concerninge Dauid Barry of BalliClogh in the Barrony of Orrery in the County of Corke in the yeare 41
Hierom Basely of Mallow Aged about 2[6] yeares beinge Sworne and Examined saith that hee Liued as afforesaid in the yeare 41 & that hee Knew the afforesaid Barry Liuinge as afforesaid, the Same yeare
That hee was in Actuall Armes in the yeare 41 and had Comand of A Company against the English
This Deponent Cause of Knowledge is that hee Liued in Mallow in the yeare 41 & was taken prisoner by the Irish partie and was Kept prisoner in A house in Mallow then maintained by the Eneimy where hee dayly Saw the said Barry in Armes
