<Mallow March the 10th 1653> Deposicions of [ ] taken Concerning Vlicke Roche of Ballindangen in the Barrony of ffermoy & County of Corke gent, In the yeare 1643
<the Lord of Corke Claimes the Land of ulick Roche by Morgage before the warr> Leuitenant Thomas Maunsell of Maccollop in the County of B Watterford, Barrony of Coshmore & Coshbride, within the precinct of Corke Aged, 40 yeares or thereabouts being Duly Sworne & Examined Saith,
That the said Vlicke Roche liued in the first yeare of the Rebellion, at Ballindangen aforesaid and Did not Remoue to the English Garisons as hee Might haue done, & as Severall English that were his Neighbours did,
That hee Kept a house of Considerable Strength at Ballindangen aforesaid, wherein Severall Armed men Resided, and would, vppon occation offered (of any English Passing by) start out & shoote at them,
That hee quitted the said house for feare of the English, (as hee pretended) and went into the Enimyes quarters, where hee Resided vntill the yeare of Ceasation,
That hee had in his possession the Goodes of Leonard & George Knowles who before the Insurection liued Neere him, & intrusted him to secure them in his said, house, (and Converted them to his owne vse)

That there liued severall English in the towne and Castle of Mitchelstowne, where this Deponent then Resided (vz) Stephen Towze Now liuing in the greate Island Neere Corke, Christopher Sadler Now liuing at Mitchelstowne, aforesaid, Thomas Coleman Now liuing there alsoe & Thomas Bell of the same,
The Cause of this Deponents Knowledge is, That hee liued Neere the said Roch from the begininge of the warrs vntill the CeaseAtion, and Did obserue his Actions during that time, and had the same Related to him. by severall Credible Persons, And that the next yeare after the Ceasation hee this Deponent and severall others tooke from the said Roche Severall Serviceable horses
