<Bandon Aprill 10th 1641> Deposicions taken Concerning Teige O Downy of Downemanaway in the Barrony of Carbery in the yeare 1641
Anthony Coates of Bandon in the County of Corke aged about 30 yeares being sworne & examined saith
That the said Teige O Downy was in actuall Armes in the yeare 1641
The Cause of this deponents Knowledge is that hee & some others in the yeare 41 were in a strong howse in the Barrony of Carbery & there Came a great party of the Iresh & beseiged the howse & would haue forced there entrance the English stood out & made Condiccions McCarty Reogh Comaunded the party in cheife & the said Teige o Downy Comaunded next vnto him & further saith nott
