Margarett Roch, the wife of Phillip Roch of Corke merchant, aged forty two yeares or thereabouts, being duely sworne and examined,
<1> To the first Inter the said Examinant sayth that shee doth well knowe that Captaine Roberte Clerke (in the Interr named) in the first yeare of the late horrid rebellion of the Irish; did bring into the Port or haven of Galway a shippe whereof himselfe was then called both Captaine and master, but what the said shippe was laden withall shee doth not now remember, but sayth that shee remembreth <A> that one Thomas Linch fitz Andrew (since deceased) was then said to be Merchant of the said shippe, And further to the said Inter shee cannot depose
<2.> To the seacond Interr shee sayth that shee doth well remember that the said Captaine Clerke and mr John Turner were committed to prison in Galway, not long after the said shippe was came into the said ffort Port, but how long, or vppon what occasion, shee knoweth not, but beleiveth it was by the then <B> Maior, they were soe committed, And further sayth shee heard Captaine Clerke declaring aboard his shippe in the said Port of Galway (at may last was twelmoneth) that hee had bin committed and abused by the Towne, and that they wold haue haue hanged him if they cold, or words to that effect, And further to the said Inter shee cannot depose

<4.> To the fourth Inter shee sayth that shee saw, out of her owne window in Galway (shee being then the wife of Thomas linch fitz Peirce a merchant and Protestant, since deceased,) the said shippe boarded and surprised by a Company off persons, <C> with boats, which persons shee afterwards heard was Dominicke Kirwan, since gone for ffrance, Stephen linch fitz Andrew, since executed at Galwaye, Walter Martin, since deceased, and others whose names shee now remembreth not, And sayth shee then heard that one or two of Capt Clerks men were killed aboard the said shippe, and others wounded, to the rest of the said Inter shee cannot depose.
<5> To the fifth Inter the said Examinant sayth that shee saw some of the รด fflahertyes and other Irish of Irconnaght in the towne of Galway at the begining of the Rebellion, and beleiveth they were invited by the Inhabitants into the towne to assist them against the ffort, but by whom in particuler <D> shee knoweth not, but sayth shee then heard that ffrancis Blake, brother to Sir Thomas Blake (both since deceased) was their Generall, And further sayth that vppon a saboath day in the afternoone (about the same tyme) one John ffox) and his wife, and one of Captaine Clerk men that came wounded out of the said shippe and lodged in ffox his house, and a gentlewoman that lived formerly in Tuam, and a sonne of mr ffishers late of Tuam, all English and protestants, were murthered by some of the said

Irish Rebells, one whereof shee saw runing with a drawne skeane, and his Armes all bloody, and saw Sir Thomas Blake Knight, since deceased and some preists running after him, to apprehend him, who did apprehend him, and shee saw him about halfe a yeare or a yeare after <E> hand hanged at ffox his dore on a Gibett, for the same ffact, And further sayth that about the tyme of the said murther the Comon sort of Irish of the towne plundered many English, and shee belevieth most or all the English in the towne had bin killed then, had not the murtherers bin followed and prevented by the said Sir Tho: Blake and some preists, that followed them with a Crucifix and the habitts, to the rest of the said Inter shee saith shee cannot at all depose,
<6> To the sixth Inter shee sayth, shee cannot further depose, then onely by heresay concerneing the murther at Shrewle, and the other at Sligoe, in the said first yeare of the Rebellion And further sayth not.
