The Examinacion of Roger McSwiny before two of the Commissioners of Reuenewe { } Captain Charles Holcrofte and Mr John Eyre taken on 26o 9bris 1652
Saith that in the begining of this rebellion he liued at Arnaglass, And <A> further saith that being in company with the English and scotch tha t were in the Barrony of Tirrau l y att there passage to Sligoe he saw Bryne McSwine and Patrick Dowd in in the Company of those that made opposicion to the passage of the said English and scho scotch beyond Castle Connor
And further saith that he doth not remember came in the Company of the said English & scotch to Duneale & there lefte them, And that he doth not remember any house he went into in the said Duneale but imediately departed there hence as soone as the said English did light, and whether they went in this examinate knoweth not

And on that a night he supped at Donoghtrane and there he <B> lay, vntill the next morning at which tyme he came back to Duneale, an where he found Mr And: o Dare & Sir Robert Hannay in the Castle, and two Ministers namely Mr Mongomery, & another whose name the examinate remembereth not striped naked in the streete. And he saith that Gullne duff o Hart now in Carbery was then, Commaunder of the said Castle, and <C> when the said English & scotch came to Arnaglas, where and there being opposicion was made by Bryan McSwynie, Alexander oge McSwyny, now in the County of Sligoe Therlogh O Bolane Morris oge McKinnallie about <Castlelackin> Dualtagh McSwynie in Tandergee in the Barrony of Tirrestragh with many others to the passage of the said British alleadgeing that it was to good a booty for them to loose, this examinate by much perswation preuailed with the aforesaid
