John Gardener on the day before mencioned being examined vppon oath saith that to his knowledg the Dowds did plunder Mr John Nowlans house, which he heard from the very acters namely Maior Dauid Dowd, Charles Dowd and Patrick Dowd who alsoe told the examinate that about 7 or 8 of the clock at night the said Do they fell vppon the said Nowlans house and alsoe that he heard form some of the adherents of the said Dowds that they stript some there And he saw further saith that he saw Charles Dowds daughters ouerseeing the Corne that belongined to the said Nowlan
ffurther saith that he heard that <B> about 14 night before the 23d of xbris & Sir Robert Hannayes [ ] Towne <& his men> was robbed & plundered by Pa: Dowd And saith that some the English & Scotch inhabitants of Sir Robert Hannaies towne were Murthered betwixt Moyne and Roserk, of which the examinate heard from Philip o Kinane, the Murtherers as the examinate doth alleadge being John McCahell & Bryne <McCahell> And he h saith that the English & Scotch who were with Sir Robert Hanan were stript by Patrick Dowds Company betwixt Castle Connor & Iniscrone And that Maister Dowd & Bryan McSwynne weere there alsoe at the said murther, And this the examinate

<C> alsoe heard from Bryan o Hannaneane of Cottles Towne
And he saith Moreouer that he heard from Garrett Dease who told him that he was there that a [ ] Scotchman was there slayne out of k whose mout h syluer dropt, And that Garrett told him who had killed the said Man but that the examinate doth not call i t to mind the same, he saith further that Roger McConn Coyne about Rostreae told him that there were three men Killed about Arnaglass And saith further that Bryan McSwine to the threw two English or Scotch men downe the Cliffe beyond Agrus
And further saith that Mathew <D> Gardener vppon the surrender of the steeple of Roserke, did compound with Edm: Burke & Oliuerus Burke to convay thimself & the rest of the english to the Boyle, And therevppon Mr Walker, And Mr Shrawley, And Mris Gardener & her daughter were convayed by three men, and notwithstanding the said Walker and Mr. Shrawley were murthered by <the way at [Shruell?]>
Mem: to examine Richard Gardener his wife of the Lords Troope Presidents Troope concerning the murther of them three men, And that Therlogh McCalugh McDonnell who liueth now with Edmond Burke of Rappagh who sent the said convay with them was one of the three that [ ] conuayed them.
