The examinacion of Grace Graues taken this 23th of ffebruary 1652 before vs whose are vnder written
<1> The examinant duely sworne saith that on the 25th of October 1641 Sir Phelim o Neale with a great multitude of the Irish repaired vnto the Towne of Armagh an English plantation, and there promissed vnto the English Inhabitants That they should haue securitye for their persons and goods they payinge theire Rents vnto the sayd Sir Phelim whoe <A> alledged that he intended the kings service and not his owne advantage. But notwithstandinge the sayd Quarter soe made the said Sir Phelims followers dayly dispoyled the Inhabitants of their goods And att May followinge. The sayd Sir Phelim with a greate Company attendin{g} him repayred againe vnto the said Towne of Armagh & then he caused the said Towne to bee sett on fire & haueing imprisoned the men & then caused them to bee carryed vnto Charleamounte to the number of aboute fforty or ffifty they the said parties were all murdered as the examinant vnderstood. And the examinant further saith that on the da{y} when the said Sir Phelim Caused the said Towne to be sett on fire she sawe a man a woman & a child murdered by certayne of Sir Phelims followers then vnder his Command
