The Examinacion of Robert Person of Clanbrasill in the Countie of Armagh weauer aged 38 yeares or thereabouts taken att Carrickfergu{s} vppon oath the 18th of May 1653
Who saith that he was vppon the begininge of the Rebellyon drawne into Sir William Brownlowes house his landlord for safetie And saith that he was the daie after the Renderinge of the said house to the enemie Goinge towards Lissnegaruie with his wife and 2 Children and other poore English, and on the waie about a Mile from the Lurgan beyond Clanroll, one Owen roe mc Keane now in pryson, and about a duzen more of the Irish mett, this Examinate and the said Companie and stript them and wounded this examinate in the head and left him for dead, butt he did nott hear of anie other of the said stript people that was wounded or kild, att that tyme, and being demaunded, who is yett liueinge of the said parties, saith that Henry Ogle of the Lurgan was one of them, and this examinants wife and others of the english, butt of the Irish partie he knowes none Liueinge butt the said Owen roe who threatened att that tyme to shoote this examinate, and presented his peece against him butt did nott shoote then, nor was it the said Owen that wounded him, butt one Hugh mc Cann as others related that was present when this examinate fell, and further saith nott.
