The examinatione of James mc Clintoge of the Br[ade] taken { } 19th day of May 1653
Who confesseth that on a sunday sone after the warr begane seeinge ma{ny} men and footemen goeinge gatheringe togeather in Brad Ilande and conclud{ } to goe through Macharymorne, and the said James beinge then a boy of a{bout) 13 or 14 yeares of age went alonge with the rest to see what he co{ } amongst them, and beinge demaunded whether he knew one { } O Tolane, saith that he never knew him, and being further { } knew any killed that day or at any other tyme in Macharymor{ne} { } he saw none killed there that day, nor noe tyme else, nor m{ } and that he had noe thinge weapon but a stick in his hand { } and that night he came to Brad Ilande Castle where he stayed al{ } next morninge he went to his mothers house where he dwelt { }
