<C> The Examination of Thomas Mc Donnell of Ballybrenagh in Lecall taken the 3d May 1653
Who being as he sayeth about eight and twenty yeeres of age: Sayeth he was one of ten that were commanded out vpon a party by phelemy Mc Toole Vnder one Serjeant Sauuadge That he knowes not where that order is nor whither itt was giuen in writt or no: He further sayeth that the sayd Sauage killed the Sarjeant Gettinbee And that the ground of his knowledge is because he saw the sayd Sauuadge shoot off his pistoll And he further sayeth that there was not any other fyre weapon in the company but that pistoll which Sauuage had That he this examinant had his share of the money for the ransom but he doeth not remember well how much itt was but he thinks itt was about fourty shill:
