The Examination off Robert Merriman of Lecale aged about threescore and ten yeres taken the 7th May 1653
Who being sworne sayeth that in the second yeere of the Rebellion he dwelt in Arglasse and that Captain Wool (then Lieutenant Wool) commanding there went out with a party to gett some prey from <A> the Rebells And the sayd party brought in Cormick Mc gueer who the yeere before went out of lecale for feare of his lyfe (as he alleadged) as others also that were then brought in did alleadge the same reason for their going out
This Examinat further sayeth that the said Cormick Mc gueer after he had remayned about fourteen dayes in Ardglasse was killed (as he this examinat heard say) by one Thomas Dixon nowe prisonner, then dwelling in Bishops court
The Examinat being asked upon s what score or by what order the sayd Mcgueer was killed by the sayd Dixon; he sayeth that he this Examinat heard say that the sayd Dixon came from Bishops court to Ardglasse of purpose to kill the sayd Mackgueer because of some difference betwix the sayd Mcgueer and a Brother of the sayd Dixon And further sayeth not
