The examinacion of John ffergison of Lackey in Com: Antrim aged fifty yeares or thereabouts taken at Lisnegaruy 3 May 1653
Who saith that he liueing in the County of Londonderry within a mile to Ballaghy at the begining of the Rebellion & came there in at the time to li u e & that [ ] night when before Ballaghy was burnd this examinant his wife & children came to Borenaw & vpon their way they heard that John Mortimore was gone into Rebellion & ouer the Ban & within a short time after they heard that the said John Mortimore with some men vnder his comand were come back againe ouer the Ban & had taken away from thence one Rich: Ardder with them over the Ban who liued vpon Maior Rawdens land neer Cashelle in Com: Antrim ouer they Ban where he was killed by them according to the report of William Whitshead & his wife now liueing at Charlemount vnto this examinant & further saith not
