The Examinacion of Hugh Magwire of Tirri Laghada in the County of Cavan taken the 23th day of October 1641 before the right honorable the Lord Chauncellor the Lord Lowther Mr Justice Cressie and Mr Attornye Generall.
<Q> Whoe saith that hee dwelt at Tirri laghada ever since the ffaire of Belturbate and that before that tyme hee dwelt and lived vpon the Proportion of Leytrim neare Newtowne from his Childhood and was borne there. hee further saith that hee vpon Tuesday last mett with one Shane O Roirke whome hee hath knowne for the space of nyne or Tenne yeares about in the in the County of Cavan but at what place hee knoweth not and being demanded when hee was at Newtowne in the County of <R> ffermannagh saith that hee was there vpon ffriday last was seavenights and this day seaven nights but not since And saith that hee and the said Shane O Roirke only travailed together that Tuesday on which they mett to a Towne Called Clefarne in the County of Cavan being about Tenne miles from Virginia and there lodged and that hee and the said Shane the next day being Wednesday travailed from Clefarne thorough Kells to <S> Ardbrackan where they lodged that night And saith that hee this Examinate and the said Shane and none other in theire Company the next day being Thursday travailed together from Ardbrackan thorough Dunshoghlin to Clonye and there lodged that night at a Walsh=mans howse And denyeth that a youth named Rory mcGwire was not in theire Company at theire Company Comminge to Cloonye nor in

nor in any of the way they travailed towards <T> Dublin neither and saith that hee did hee never did see the said Rory before this morning, hee this Examinate further saith that hee and the said Shane O Roirke and noe other in theire Company travailed from Cloonye to the St oany Boughterneture Oxmantowne Greene vpon yesterday being ffriday and there they both Lodged at the howse of one Owen O Rely whome hee hath knowne for the space of Tenne <V> yeares and more And being demanded what occasion hee had to Dublin saith that hee Came to Dublin to gett a writt against Patrick mcBrian mcColl Boy mc Donnell and Moriertagh O Gowen and Patrick O Gowen whoe as hee said did owe foure or five pounds and that hee had noe other businesse to this Citty And being demanded howe many of the County of ffermannagh hee had seene since hee Came to this Citty hee saith that hee did see five or six foure or five men of that County in the streets but knoweth not the names of any of them
