John Homes late Soueraigne of St Johns Towne in the Countie of Longford Barony of Granard a protestant and freehoulder beeinge duely sworne deposeth That vppon the 27th of October last past 1641 in the place aforesaid hee was expelled from robbed and dispoyled by the rebells (heere vndernamed) of his goodes and meanes of livelyhood vizt.
Of a howse & Lande his interest therein beeinge worth....................200 li.

thousand one hundred and fortie pounds
And this robberie was donne by Murrogh mc Edmund <A> of the Reine in the Parish of Killoe, and Lisagh mc Gerrald of the parish of Killoe one of the Captains of the rebells, Thomas mc Donnogh the Earle of Westmeathes Bayliffe of the parish of Killoe, and the saide Murragh mc Edmund and the rest drew theire skeanes at this deponent and sett them against his brest, threateninge to kill him if hee did not deliuer his keyes and did beate his wife and spurne her, And this deponent saith that Donnell ffarrell of <B.> Killshrough and his mother were parties allsoe that robbed this deponent and ffrancis ffarrell of the mote in the parish aforesaide and Lysagh Duffe of NewTowne in the parish of Killoe and ffawkeny his sonn Esquire a Justice of Peace stood by when this robberie was committed and would not helpe him, beeinge, And the saide rebells beinge demaunded by whose

whose authoritie they did those thinges, answered in these Traytorous wordes that they did it by the Kings authoritie, and had the Kings broade seale for soe doeinge and to whipp this deponent out of Towne, and that they were the Kings true subiects, and wee were rog <C> rogues, and the saide Murragh ffarrell tooke the deponents staffe of office out of his hand and saide hee would make a Soveraigne.
