William Wyld of Ballylough and Timothy Barton late of the same in the County of Longford servants to Mathias ffowle of Bullylough aforesaid Esquire sworne and examined say, that they haue heard read and were present when the said Mathias ffowle their Maister was sworne to his examinacion as they are now before his Maiesties Commissioners to this their examinacion and doe very well Knowe that the examinacion of their said Master is in all thinges true, and that hee by this rebellion lost and was dispoiled of his goodes and Chattles of the vallue of 3519 li. as is expelled from his howses and grounds worth 200 li. per Annum And theis deponents further say That they were both in their said Masters house at Ballylough in or about the 20th of November last when it was assaulted and beseidged by one Christopher Nugent of <A.> Ballynoll in the parish of Granard and county of Longford gent and about 120 more rebbells whose names they Know not vnder his comaund, Att which time three of those rebbells beinge slaine from the house they all run away, wherupon quickly afterwards the same day James mc Thomas of Culamber in or betwixt the countyes of Westmeath and Longford Esquire came on horsbacke with his wife and eldest sonnemc Thomas and Nyne more horsmen his servants and tenants and with faire words and intreaties perswaded and drew theis deponents and the rest whoe defended the house to open the gates promissinge that the same house and all their said Masters goods should be secured and

and by him the said James mc Thomas Kept in safety for their said Master wherupon the gates beinge oppened and hee and his company lett in the said James mc Thomas and his said company then vpon the faire promisses aforesaid tooke away diuers of their said Maisters goodes and the same night brought in one Brian mc Shane <A.> of Agawoarkill in the parish of Clonebrowny in the county of Longford gentleman and 40 or 50 more rebbells whoe tooke away all the rest of their Maisters goods in a rebbellious and forcible manner And the said James mac Thomas and the other rebbells still detaine all the same goods from their said Master And the said Brian mc Shane pretendinge title to their said Masters house and landes tooke possession therof And still for anie they Knowe to the contrary houldeth the same they theis deponents with much dificulty escapeinge away from the said Rebbells
