The Examynacion of Hugh Byrne of Menalta in the Com of Meath yeoman taken by vs the day and yeare within writen
<M> Whoe saith that he liueth with Mr Beatagh of Menalta, aforesaid as his servant, these 3 yeares past, And that he Came to the Cittie of dublin on friday the 22th of 8ber Last, (aboute 3 of the Clocke in the afternoone,) for some writts which his said Master sent him for from John Kelly out of the Exchequor, And that he is knowen by William Lany and his wife of Cookestreete, where his said Master did vse to lodge and to Connor Really of Sct Michells Lane, <N> Innkeeper wher this Examynant lodged the said friday night) And this Examynant further saith that he had noe manner of weapon with him when he Came to towne, or after, And further saith that the Next Morninge he went to the said John Kellys Lodginge, to gett the said writts, whoe was not within and at his returne backe againe he was apprehended And futher saith not.
