253 259BrianThe Examinacion of Brian mc Goghegan of Lacca in the County of Kildare gent taken before us Sir Richard Bolton knight Lord Chancellor & Sir Gerrard Lowther knight Lord Chief Justice of his Maiesties Court of Common Pleas this 9th of November 1641.
The Examinat saith that he is a Kinsman of Conly <G> Magoghegan & hath liued with him & his father Kedagh mc Goghegan about this four yeeres last past & that since Michelmas last past he hath liued at Lacca in the County of Kildare beeing the Joynture of the said Conly his mother & that his occasion of coming now to Dublin was to accompany the said Conly the said Conly desiring him to goe along with him & that they came from Lacca yesterday morning beeing Monday hauing none in their Company but Donnogh Mag <H> Magoghegan a seruant of the said Conlyes & Donnell Horroghogh the said Conlyes footboy but they mett diuerse others in the way whose names he knoweth not & that they came to Dublin about fiue of the clocke at the night & came to the howse of Tieg ô Connor in st Francis street & there takeing up a Chamber & hauing a fire made therein & beeing ready for supper the Good wife of the howse came up into the Chamber & asked them if it might not be offensiue unto them to haue some gent that were in the howse to come & suppe with them there & they answering it should be noe offence unto them Supper was brought up & the there came into the Chamber Dermott Cavenagh one Bermingham & <J> other that came one Donnogh whose sirname he knoweth not & Brian ô Hara & a seruant of the said Dermott Cavenag{h} whose name he knoweth not & an other who came in Berminghams company whose name he knoweth not nor had he any acquaintance with the said Dermott nor any of the rest saue Donnogh, and Brian ô Hara whom he had seene once before in the howse of Connor Sligo & severall times in this Towne After supper they beeing
