The Examinacion of Henry White of Cookestreete Dublin Cooke taken before us Sir Richard Bolton knight Lord Chancellor of Ireland taken & Sir Gerrard Lowther Knight Lord Chief Justice of his Maiesties Court of Chief Pleas this 17th of 9ber 1641.
This Examinant beeing duly sworne & examined upon oath saith that about Monday last was Fortnight in the morning <Z> hee this Examinant & George Hackett beeing at Breakfast in the howse of Elizabeth Moore in Cookstreet the said Hackett said that he would stay in Dublin to be made a Captaine & that if he were a Captaine hee would fight for the King & be imployed in the County of Wickloe & that his wife was of the Birnes as good a gentlewoman as any of the Birnes & thereupon he dranke the Kings health to this Examinant whereto this Examinant said God blesse the King & the said Hackett replyed Amen Hee further saith that the said Hackett tooke of out of his pockett <A:> a litle booke or paper (this Examinant knoweth not whether) and read thereout the names of certaine men but hee this Examinant tooke noe notice of it This Examinant denyeth that hee said what foolish people are those that are in Rebellion for the King will haue a hand in it or any other words to that effect.
