The Examinacion of Phillip Maxwell of the Woodkey Dublin Carpenter taken before us Sir Richard Bolton Knight Lord Chief Justice of his Maiesties Cour Chancellor of Ireland and Sir Gerrard Lowther Knight and of his Lord Chief Justice of his Maiesties Court of Chief Pleas this 19th day of November 1641.
Who beeing duly sworne & examined upon his oath saith that upon All Saints day last in the morning hee came into the howse of <R:> Elizabeth Moore in Cookstreete & there found George Hackett whom this Examinant neuer saw before to his knowledge & a Cooke named Henry Whyte at Breakfast in the said howse & upon conference betwixt them this Examinant heard the said Hackett say that hee hoped to be a Captaine & to doe the King good seruice against the Rebells & said further that he hoped to wash his sword in the blood of the Rebells or words to that effect & thereupon he dran further saith that the said Hackett dranke the Kings health unto the said Henry Whyte which was pledged by Henry Whyte & this Examinant whereupon this Examinant departed & left them & what further discourse passed betweene them this Examinant knoweth not.
