The examinacion off John Brakenbury late off the Deans Grange in the County of Dublin gentleman taken before mee Sir Robertt Merideigh, knight and one off his Maiesties most honnorable privie Councell the 27 off May 1642
Saith thatt liueinge in the grange in the begininge off Jannuary last this examinante had taken from him 3 Cowes and 5 bullockes beinge the remander off all the stocke the Rebbells had left him, and hearinge they weare driuen by Carricke mayne this Examinante followed to the said place, and there went into the house off Carrickmayne, and there found sittinge by the fire ould Mr ffagann off ffeltram to whome this examinante made a Complant of his losses, and this examinante did alsoe see in the said house one smale brass peece called a slinge pece which this examinant did ffformerly know to haue layne vpon the Castell off Bullocke, for which in the space off one oure the said Theobald Walse came vp into the rowme where this examinate was and tould this examinant thatt there was 3 or 4 off the Irishe Captains, to dyne with him and thatt they would nott like off my being there. Soe this examinante toke leave, and left the said ffagan and walsh with the irish Captains and with divers off the Country gentleman 2 of which this examinant did know James Goodman of Loughanstowne and Thomas Chevers off Mouncktowne and for cause off knowledge this examinant did ssee and know what he hath deposed to be trewe
