The Examination of Richard Duffe, taken the second daie of May 1642 Before mee Chancelour of his Maiesties Court of Exchequer; By direction of the right honnorable the Lordes Justices & Councell.
Who beeing sworne & Examined saith that about Christmas last past hee this Examinant went with his Mother vnto the Countesse of Tirconnells att Turvey & from thence with his Brother Richard ffitz-William vnto Gormanston, where they lodged one night, & where likewise there then was, onelie the Lord of Gormanston, his Ladie, and ffamilie, & Mr King of Clantarffe & his wife. And from thence hee this Examinant and his said Brother went vnto the Lord of Lowthes house att the Carick, where there was noe Companie besides his Lordship & ffamilie, & thence vnto the Ladie Tathes, & soe vnto his said Brothers house. where, hee & his said Brother (who was for the most part) sick remained, vntill hee this Examinant went vnto the Lord Moore, with a Letter from his said Brother. And further this Examinant saith, there came vnto his Brothers house att seuerall tymes in theire waie to & from the Noorthe Collonell Plunckett Roger Moore And Tirlagh oge รด Neale who married a daughter of Roger Moores
