xxiijo Januar: 1644
<m> Thomas Phillipps Soldier being duely sworne & examjned before the Commissioners deposeth & sayth that hee was present when one Thomas Bennett of Nerrath a little before Christmasse last past in Dublin was vppon accompt with one Richard Swynefielde and that hee heard the said Bennett acknowledge & confesse that hee owed the said Swynefielde the some of Twenty Pounds, And that at the said <n> Bennetts goeing for England hee heard him wish one Thomas Maddocks wife of the Rings=End to deliver the Herrings in her Husbands back=side being 120 barrells (or thereabouts vnto Richard Swynefielde aforesaid: when hee called for them, And the deponent never heard to the Contrary butt that the said Herrings did belong vnto the said Bennett before that time
